Device to determine cold and heat contact urticaria

temptest mit arm QuadratWith the TempTest® device cold and heat contact urticaria can easily and quickly be determined and the individual temperature threshold for each patient is stated.

 

Especially cold contact urticaria (CCU) is quite common. Patient suffering from CCU develop wheal reactions paired with itch and burn and/or angioedema following exposure to cold (e.g. cold temptest pustelnweather, drinks, cool surfaces, etc.). Some encounters (e.g. jumping into cold water or eating ice cream) may even lead to severe consequences such as asphyxiation due to pharyngeal swelling or anaphylactic shock. There is no general threshold temperature for the patients. It is as individual as different.
