What is the difference between the 3 systems/when to use which?

Visioline VL 650 ganzThe Skin-Visiometer® is especially designed to analyse the microrelief of the skin (e.g. at the inner forearm) by transmitting light through a replica (a 3 dimensional negative of the skin)VisioscanUSBtthus the 3 dimensional coordinates for each pixel of the digitised image are known and profiles on the images can be measured in real depth (µm). The Visioscan® is taking a direct image of the living skin with a special UV-light. The grey level distribution of the pixels in the image correspond to different phenomena (white pixels represent desquamation on the skin, dark pixel represent lines and wrinkles). The special software SELS® (Surface Evaluation of the Living Skin) evaluates the following parameters in arbitrary units: scaliness, smoothness, roughness and wrinkles of before and after treatment measurement. The Visioline® is created to measure the deep lines and wrinkles (e.g. in the "crow's feet area"). A special white silicone replica is taken and illuminated in the device by oblique light. Thus the wrinkles create a shadow and a special camera takes the image and the shadows and thus the size of the wrinkle, the depth, the volume (metrically) etc. can be easily calculated.

In addition all methods using replica, i.e. Visiometer® and Visioline® are perfectly suited to perform measurements independent from a geographical zone since the replica can be made all over the world, saved for a long time and be sent to one evaluation centre afterwards.

How can I find back exactly the same skin site in a longterm study?

SVarmFor measurements on the inner forearm: Put a ring on the finger and fix a strip to it. Thus you can reconstruct the lengths on the forearm. Or use a stencil a special marker with non-visible ink which can only be seen under UV-light

For other measurement areas: Use a digital camera to photograph the measured area where you take e.g. replica (e.g. crow feet area) in order to find back the spot after a longer time period.

The software doesn’t open saying “No protection module available…”.

This is a protected software requesting a lock key (a so called “dongle”). Make sure the dongle supplied with the system is inserted in one of your USB ports and when used for thedonglefirst time, the corresponding driver for the dongle has been properly installed.

How do I get my measurement results into Excel?

Visioscan®/Visiometer®:

The easiest way is to do a MIA (Multi Image Analysis) where you select the images you want to have calculated and they will be calculated as a batch and be available in one Excel sheet.

Please read the instruction manual for the details.

Visioline®:

You can edit a study from the beginning and then all measurements conducted under this study will go directly in a common Excel sheet.

Please read the instruction manual for the details.

Is it difficult to make the replica neccessary for the Visiometer® or the Visioline®?

No, in bosilfloth cases it is fairly easy. The Visiometer® uses special, thinn two component blue silicon and the Visioline® uses Silflo® replica. You will only need a little training and you will see for yourself how easy it is.

You can display up to 4 measurement curves together on the screen. By pressing the “Excel” button, you can bring them in one Excel sheet (either the data of the curves: penetration depth in mm/ms or the results (R, F and Q values for each curve).

Please read the instruction manual for the details.
